Released in collaboration by Kutmusic and Improvvisatore Involontario, the brand new Francesco Cusa opus is dedicated to the memory of pianist Gianni Lenoci. ”The Uncle – (Giano Bifronte)” is a double CD and digital release, playing on the concept of the “double”, where Cusa (drums) leads two combos in which he plays with Gianni Lenoci (piano), Giovanni Benvenuti (tenor sax), Valeria Sturba (voice, theremin, violin and electronics) and Ferdinando Romano (bass).
  The two lineups – playing the same five Cusa-penned compositions – are, respectively, Francesco Cusa & The Assassins (Francesco Cusa with Giovanni Benvenuti, Valeria Sturba and Ferdinando Romano) and the Francesco Cusa Trio feat. Giovanni Benvenuti (where Cusa and Benvenuti are joined by Gianni Lenoci and Ferdinando Romano).

The double CD release also includes a booklet with four poems written by Cusa and dedicated to Lenoci.

I due gruppi, Francesco Cusa & The Assassins (Giovanni Benvenuti, Valeria Sturba, Ferdinando Romano, Francesco Cusa), nel primo disco, e Francesco Cusa Trio feat. Giovanni Benvenuti (Gianni Lenoci, Ferdinando Romano, Francesco Cusa), nel secondo, suonano le stesse composizioni che portano tutte la firma di Francesco Cusa.

“Dopo la prematura scomparsa di Gianni Lenoci esce il nostro cd. Ho deciso di dedicare a lui il titolo di questo mio ultimo lavoro: “The Uncle”. Così tutti lo chiamavamo, nella ristretta cerchia di amici. Originariamente il cd aveva come titolo quello di “Giano Bifronte”, ma dopo la scomparsa di Gianni Lenoci ho deciso di tenerlo come sottotitolo. Anche perché si tratta di un disco doppio: due gruppi che suonano le stesse mie composizioni, esperienza che avevo già attuato in passato con il cd “Francesco Cusa Skrunch – Electric/Vocal” e “Jacques Lacan, a true musical story” del 2010. Il disco esce per due differenti label riunite per l’occasione in un consorzio: Improvvisatore Involontario e Kutmusic. Gianni Lenoci ha suonato meravigliosamente in questo cd. La sua musica ci accompagnerà sempre” Francesco Cusa.

L’album continente anche un booklet con quattro poesie di Cusa dedicate al grande amico, mentore, artista e pensatore Gianni Lenoci.
